The iTunes Genius is racist
Today I ran a iTunes genius query on Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Girls Put Your Records On”. I was hoping for mellow, summery music. Instead I got every type of genre, including Rap, Hip Hop, R&B, Soul and music from the Dreamgirls soundtrack. I was confused. Why wasn’t I getting the results I expected? Well, the artists were related, in a way—They were just all Black.
Can anyone explain this?
